Where do college students keep their phones at night?... and other insights
For the past few years I’ve given my “Business of Media” class a brief survey about their media use at the start of the semester. They use this data to write a brief paper in which they make inferences about college student media use based on the data from the survey.
I know it’s just anecdotal data from 71 students, but you might find it interesting.
Two data points?
94% of the students keep their mobile phone either in their hand, under their pillow, or within a few feet of their pillow when they go to sleep.
When reading for school 74% read on a computer and 21% read a physical book. But when reading for pleasure 40% read a physical book and 7% read on a computer.
